Pretzel Strawberry Dessert
- Boiling hot water – 2 cups
- Granulated sugar – 3 cups
- Thin pretzel sticks (crushed) – 2 cups
- Room temperature butter – 12 tablespoons
- Strawberry gelatin – 1 packet or 6 ounces
- Cream Cheese – 1 large block
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Whipped Cup – 1 cup
- Strawberries (fresh or frozen) – 2 cup fulls
Preheat oven to 400 Fahrenheit. Crush the pretzels till fine. Add butter and sugar to crushed pretzels. Next, press the pretzel mixture into a 9×13 inch baking pan for the crust. Leave it to bake for between 6-10 mins till it turns lightly brown before leaving it to cool completely.
For the filling, start by pouring 2 cups of boiling water over strawberry gelatin and melt it before leaving it to cool. Add sugar and whipped cream into the cream cheese and beat it evenly before pouring it over the cooled crust.
Slowly add strawberries to the gelatin and allow it to thicken. Spread the gelatin and strawberries over the layer of cream cheese. Allow it to refrigerate till it forms. Cut into bite-sized squares before serving.
